Dr. Carden-Brodie sald to-day that chances against Deans at that time were four to one, because jee pack treatment on the freighter had aided inflammation. The treatment | was changed to pplications and the young man’ cos are two to one in his favor to-day. Dr. Carden- Brodie accompanied him to the hos- pital, Deans ix a son of the late John Spencer Deans, Vice President of the Phoenix Bridge Company, and en- ginecr in charge of construction of the Manhattan Bridge.
