Nellie Bradshaw of Manchester, England, who last Saturday told Mag- istrate Nolan the pitiful story of a husband gone to the war and of her being prevented by a policeman from plunging into the North River rather than starve or go on the streets, was in the Tombs Police Court this morn- ing. This morning tho Tombs Court was packed with church people, members of charitable organ\- zations and others who want to do good for the love of doing so. Acting under instructions from Magistrate Nolan, Assistant District Attoreny Gates Investigated the wo- man's case and found that her name is Nellio Nessis, that her husband didn't go to the war for the reason that she never had a husband and that prior to coming here she had been released from an institution in Manchester.
