Stephen ©. Baldwin, counsel fer the Mayor, submitted to Supreme Court Justice Piatzek a printed answer Of seventy-two pages, which Included the old answer and amendments. The Coert directed that the whole answer be Bled. ‘The new defenses are that the Mayor (was privileged to use the language he employed with regard to Curran and that he was further provoked to une the words of which Mr. Curran com- plains.
