WITH TEARING OUT WORK HE HAD DONE Mrs. Zegarski Tells a Remark- | ‘able Story of Experiences in Dr. Walker’s Office. ACCUSES WOMAN ALSO. | ‘Declares the Dentist’s Assistant and Friend Aided Him in Attacking Her. Dr. Benjamin Walker, a dentist of Ninth street and Fifth avenue, Brook- lyn, his assistant, Minnie Conon, and | hfe friend, Dr. Wilfred Hartley, were | arraigned before Magistrate Tighe in the Fifth Avenue Court, Brooklyn, to- day as a result of a story of brutality ‘nd mercenary cruelty told by Mrs. Mary Zegarsk! of No. 103 Twenty-ninth atreet. She swore that because she had not met Dr. Walker's demands for money he had, with the ald of the other two, forefbly undone much of the the dental ‘work he had performed for her since fast June, tearing out one tooth root in doing so and cutting her gums seriously, | Baye He Asked for Money. Her contract with Dr, Walker, ahe | wad, called for 43.50 worth of work, to be paid for in iustalments. A payment was made on Deo. 5 and left her owing | $14.50. She went to Dr. Walker's office fast Saturday. He looked over the re- | maining work to be done and then, she | says, demanded payment in full. Then, Mrs. Zegareki declared, he sai | “al right;” told her to settle back in the chair, She said he held her arms down by her side, Miss Conton held her head, and Dr. Hartley, with the aid of forceps and other instruments, began | tearing out her completed bridge work, | She screamed, she said, and her little @augiter Syivia ran in from the waiting room. She had in her hand her | mother’s satchel, which Mrs. Zegarski | eald contained $11.25 and her original | contract with Dr. Walker. She said that Dr. Hartley took the @atchel from the girl and handed it to| Dr. Walker, who opened it with one, hand, still honlding her down with the other, and took out all the money and the contract. She then struggled loose | and went out with the doctor. Her mouth was bleeding, she sald, and she | was in great pain. Took Her to a Doctor. She went to her home and when her husband came in went with him to} Pr. Grobinsky of No. 605 Third avenue, who attended to her mouth and gave! her a certificate as to the condition in) which he found her jaw. Dr. Grobinsky was not in court. It+ was explained that he had a call which | could not be deferred, but would be in| court later. The case was adjourned. An Evening World reporter ap- proached Dr. Hartley to ask what the other side of the story was, “You go to —.." was the only state- ment made to him by Dr. Hartley. _ ile tdcaae = alse Aged Man Killed by Gas.
