TOCKS UPN Advance in Mobile & Ohio Helps the Entire List. DUE TO SOUTHERN DEAL Stee! & Wire and Missouri, Kansas & Texas Good Features. A otrong tone was imparted to the entire Het in the Stock Market to-day by the pronounced buoyancy in Mobile & Ohfo. On the execution of buying orders for 2,000 whares, this stock opened up 4 full points and quickly extended its gain 23-4 per cent. on good support. This strength in Mobile & Ohlo was due to the deal by which Southern Rati way interests acquire! control of the road. Other stocks which benefited in sym- pathy were Stee? & Wire, Rock Island, Southern Pacific and Missouri, Kansas » & Texas preferred. ‘The first named B mtock was up 2 points in the initial deal- ings on a big demand. Rock Island B® did not gain as much, but was in better demand, being bouwit to the ex 4.000 at the opening, Missouri, & Texas preferred was up 1 1-4 on deals ‘of 5,000 4.
