Il.—Coroner Mul- Iins left this afternon for the Paleto Hills to hold an Inquest - on the body of Bessfe udson, who accidentally shot and killed herself while hunting with a rifle. From meager accounts it appears that Miss Hudson left her home with a small rifle to shoot rabbits. Bhortridge. —_——— Tank of Automobile Blows Up. An exciting automobile accldent oc- curred yesterday morning on “Larkin street, directly opposite the City Hall. A large touring car was speeding to- ward Market street, when it struck a rut in the pavement. The jar®tore loose the fastenings of one of the gaso- line tanks that are carried underneath the machine and it fell to the street. Just as it struck the pavement the tank exploded with a roar. The street from pavement to pavement was filled with flame, the force of the explosion being so great as to shatter the basalt blocks immediately under the tank. The speed of the automobile carried it so quickly beyond the point of the ex- plosion that it was uninjured and its mechanism seemingly unimpaired, for Chas. M. Plum & Co.
