Goctety’s Bummer Outing OCIETY promises many stir- ring entertainments during the coming autumn season, the pro- grammes being planned and agreed upon by the wvisitors who are still at the various re- sorts. here is every reason to believe that the winter here will be one of the most conspicuous for many years from a soclal standpoint. Weddings are ennounced in plenty. Outdoor games will appeal to the lovers of hill climbing, hunting and boating and cross-country sport will be freely thduiged in. At the re- sorts that are still in full swing the past week has been mostly notable for card | parties and driving, while several dances kave been indulged in. For the near fu- ture there are to be several receptions, the outcome of announced engagements. PUSEE Von Guffenberg Arraigned. Hugo von Guffenberg was arraigned be- fore Judge Cabaniss yesterday on a charge of grand larceny and the case con- tinued till Tuesday. Judge Dunne yesterday sentenced Charles Farrell to serve ten years in Fol- som penitentiary for robbery. Farrell was convicted by a jury of robbi Frank Burnett, an old man, of $18 out: a sa- loon on Sacramento street on April 13. He also sentenced Che Gee, a Chinaman, to serve five years in Folsom for burglary. He was convicted of breaking into the residence of Mrs. Jemima Smith, 143§ Clay street, on June 1.
