The deecision rendered to-day by Judge Melvin against the scavengers declaring the garbage ordinance valid leaves the city without recourse in the matter of disposing of the refuse, and makes per- manent relief dependent upon private en- terprise. The charter of the city does not admit of the municipality erecting a crematory from its funds, and as the scavengers are prevented from dumping debris within the city limits the solution of the ques- tion rests with private capital, which it is understood has already volunteered to erect a crematory. TO MEN WHO HAVE ANY DISEASE OR WEAKNESS, WE HAVE A few words to say, In a sensible, straightforward way. You may imagine you are tired of life, the future holding nothing of promise for you. In all probability you are tired of incompetent doctors, who promise more than they can perform—who promise cures in a few days or two or three weeks; tired of cure-all patent medicines, free-trial treatments; disgusted with that played-out fad of electric belts, electric appliances and similar swindles. If you have been duped by them in these ways and by such methods, we are not surprised at your tired feeling and your utter disgust. But we beg to re- mind you that there are still honest, conscientious and skilled physicians who, If you will visit them, will give you facts regarding your condition—who will not mislead you with false promises. Such men are to be found in the of- fices of DR. MEYERS & CO. ‘Their business is to cure men, and they deit. Their methods are the latest that science can and has proven to be the most effective. If you consult them you get nothing but straightforward, honest talk; a correct diagnosis of your case, and what you are to expect—no false inducements of an “im- possible” speedy cure. The consultation and examination will cest you nothing. If your case is curable we tell you so; if incurable, we as frank- ly tell you the truth. If you live at a distance and cannot call at office, write us. All letters confidential and promptly answered. Furniture moved to our store on sale this week. H. Schellhaas, Oakland.
