In the main the talent had it all their own way, but one or two runs jarred them a bit. The opening course was a ‘“‘dump, | Senorita at 2105 putting out the famous Laurelwood. HILL DEAD, A Well-Known Capitalist and Fruit- Grower Passes Away, Ex-Senator William MPherson Hill of Sonoma County died here last Friday at the O.iver House, 899 P.ne s reet, after a short iidness. His death resulted from neuralgia of the heart. A few months ago Mr. Hill's only daughter died sud- denly, and it is believed that the grief occasioned by her loss has nhad much to do with his sickuess. The deceatel was a native of Pennsylvania and was 75 years old. He leaves a w:dow and twu sons. Horace Hill, the capitalist, is a brother of tue dead man. William Hill was a prominent figure in Democratic politics. He was elected to the Staie Senate from Sonoma County several times. He also served as a D puty Collector of Customs under Colfector J. S. Hager from 1885 to 1889. He was vice. president of iue Society of Calilornia Pioneer-. ‘The deceased was at one time one of the largest fruit-growers of Sonoma County. He owned afruit ranch at Glen Ellen, | which is now the site ¢f the Home for the Feeble-minded. The funeral will take place to-morrow at 2,0'c.ock. The interment will be in Lauiel Hill Cemetery.
