Jacobs, cn automobile repairman, 4010 Hamilton street, was arrested yes- terday evening and charged with grand larceny on a warrant fssued by John R. Gift. Gift says Jacobs stole his auto- mobfle after he had left it with him to repair, The facts of the story became known to the local police yesterday evening, bowever, and Jacobs was released. It seems, according to statements made by the police that Jacobs repaired the car for Gif:, who refused to pay the bill upon 4he terms which the former demanded. Jacobs forbade Gift to remove his car from his place cf business without the cash and the latter immediately set about to replevin it. Jacobs the' hid the car so that it could not be found to replevin and Gift had him arrested, The case will probably be taken to the civil courts for adjustment.
