WITNESS IS ASSAULTED TWICE Charges of contempt of ecourt, physical assault and intimidation of a withess have been made in distriet eourt by the street rallway company in support of its motion to secure & fiew trial in the personal injury dam- age suit in which Alva Jackson se- cured a verdict of §12,000 in Judge English's district court. Jackson is a former Omaha police of- ficer, who more than ten years ago was wounded by Pat Crowe in a revelver duel on the streets with the kidnaper of Bdward Cudahy. Me sued the street rafi- way company for damages, alleging that on July 22, 1913, he sustained an injury to hils leg as the result of & car starting up when he was attempting to board it, which necessitated amputation. The case was tried last March, Witness Assaulted. Affidavits and motions filed by John L. Webster and W. J. Connell, attorneys for the street rallway company, contain the following charges and requests for action by the court: Nels Jensen, who had made a statement that Frank Jackson, the plaintiff's brother, had offered him a bribe to give false testimony, swears in an affidavit /that he was twice assaulted by Frank Jackson, the second time on May 2, at Fifteenth and Chicago streets, when he was knocked unconsclous.
