Mr. Robert Foote, of Baffalo, Johnson county, Wyoming, was in the city last week, and while here pur- chased his entire stock, consisting of groceries, dry goods, boots and shoes, from Omaha merchants, Mr, Foote made a trip to Omaha and Chicago last spring and purchased a portion of his stock in each place. Oo his return he sasserted his belicf tha western merchants could buy to better advantage 1n Owaha than in Chicago, and now he is simply prac ticiug what he preached. Mr. Foote bought goods amounting in all to over 820000, buying from Paxton & Gallagner, alone, seven car loads of groceries, 140,000 pounds, making the largest shipment ever made at one time to any one indi- vidual from this city. An example liso this cannot but have its cffect on western merchants, by inducing them to inquire aud satisfly themselves of the relative advantages of the two cities named. It is proper to say that this condition of uffairs has been brought about largely by the efforts and enterprise of Messrs, Paxton & Gallagher, who have revolutionized the trads in this pret of the country to a great extent.
