WHEAT SUMMARY Both cash and future wheat scored an advance during the past week, No. 1 to No. 3 Northern gaining four to six cents, and the May and July options gaining -two-to three cents.. . = i Out of a medley of rumors, and. politi- cal speculations, which marked the ups and downs of the markets, it appears that there is little fear.of immediate peace in Europe, and that many wheat traders have abandoned the idea that if peace should come, there would be a drop in the demand for grain throughout the world. ¢ Nothing was hard last week of the South American crop, and the wheat crop of India did not come in to hefp bears lower the market. Receipts at Minne- apolis, Duluth and Chicago were much lower than for respective days the previous year, and flour shipments from Minneapolis were correspondingly smaller. ¢ ; A factor that helped to stimulate grain last week was a series of announcements that freight embargoes by eastward reaching railroads were to be lifted. The governor believes that he and the members: of his' administration can put in their time to better advantage for the people of the state than by standing around rubbering at some of the real fashionable dresses that compose two straps over the shoulder and a belt. Our new governor is a business man, not a society man at all. We are strong for the new governor’s position. He at least shows common sense—some of the people who attend the high brow balls sometimes don’t—in dress—or undress. —VALLEY CITY (N. D.) COURIER. 3 THIRTEEN: v MR. FARMER ATTENTION!
