: THE NONPARTISAN LEADER are safe, and that victory will crown the effori this fall. -+ . Keep in mind, however, that the precinct meeting is merely - the first skirmish in the great battle before us, and every member must be alert until election day and think of and do his part in / _the great emancipation as this duty devolves upon him, and as he is called upon to act. TR : ! Business Manager’s Corner ANOTHER BIG INCREASE IN ADVERTISING Again the Leader has a big increase in its display and classified advertising in this issue—in fact if this increase keeps up we fear we will have to refuse any more advertising until we can increase the size of the Leader. : We have determined that we cannot crowd out too much reading matter and cartoons, so the clamoring advertisers who want to reach all the North Dakota farmers through the only advertising medium which has sufficient circulation to enable them to do that, may have to wait patiently a few weeks more for service. The reason for this continued increase in advertising is the fact that the solid rock of service is CIRCULATION AND SATISFACTION, and it has been fully demonstrated to advertisers that the Leader has the circulation and renders satisfactory service. Look over the new ads, ranging from a whole page to one inch; see if in them you can find the articles that you want, and then-patron- ize these merchants because they advertise in your paper and thus aid in making it possible for the League to have as strong an advocate as the Leader. i Don’t forget to send in that small classified ad, which will sell what you want to dispose of and secure for you the things that. you desire. Cut rate to members of the League. Big Prize Contest . These are active days for politicians. It is a good time to study those fellows that we may know more about them. In order to encourage this study and pro- mote an exchange of ideas along this line the Leader asks all its readers to join in the investigation .. To make the matter interesting the Leader will give $25 in prizes. for the best answers to the questions below. .- j _ The prizes will be as follows: first prize, $10;-'second.l’l ; prize, $7; third prize, $5; fourth prize, $3. The questions to be answered are: 1. What is a politician? G 2. What have the politicians done for the people of this state in the past ten years? rid 3. Should farmers vote for politicians, if not why ¢ not? . 4. Should farmers vote for farmers, if so why? 5. Which makes the best public official—the man who seeks office, or he whom the office seeks? - — 2 Rules of the Contest : ‘ 1. Any farmer, farmer’s wife, daughter, son or - hired hand may enter the contest. . 2. Letters must be short, preferably not more " than 200 words, written on one side of the paper and 3. League organizers, speakers, or officials or any- . one connected with the Leader force will not be permit- * ted to enter the contest. z . The contest will close Tuesday, February 29. : All the best letters will be published in the Leader. Let everybody get busy right now. Don’t put it off a day or you may forget. : * Address all lettersto : Politician Editor, Nonpartisan Leader Box 919, Fargo, North Dakota .
