This notice, so far as the League is concerned, IS A FAKE. : : THE NONPARTISAN LEAGUE HAS MADE NO ARRANGEMENTS TO HOLD A JOINT CONVENTION WITH EITHER THE GRANGE OR THE EQUITY AT GOLDEN VALLEY OR ANY OTHER PLACE. CON%?’I%%% HAVE ANY ARRANGEMENTS BEEN MADE TO FURNISH LEAGUE SPEAKERS AT ANY SUCH The notice is not signed. The names of the parties responsible for this imposition are not given. This is a trick of the over anxious office holder and office seeker. IT IS AN EFFORT TO DECEIVE, FOOL AND CONFUSE MEMBERS OF THE LEAGUE. . 'The politicians and the tools of organized middlemen are very much alarmed. - They have seen the hand writing on the wall. They have always been able to fool and control many of you farmers but now they see you turning a deaf ear and they are almost frantic in their unfair effort to get you to listen ‘to them. SO THEY RESORT TO TRICKERY. 3 ' They know you have elected delegates to indorse good men for office and they know now that most of these dele- gates are men who cannot be influenced. ; - BECAUSE THEY CANNOT GET INTO YOUR ORGANIZATION AND FAILED TO GET THEIR TOOLS ELECTED TO YOUR CONVENTIONS, THEY NOW UNDERTAKE TO HOLD AN OUTSIDE CONVENTION UNDER THE GUISE THAT THE LEAGUE IS PARTICIPATING IN IT. They would call a “League Convention” THAT THEY CAN CONTROL and make you believe, if they can, that this convention is a bonafide League meeting. 3 This notice does not state the purpose of the convention, but the politicians will take care of that. They know what their purpose is, and so should you. : THEY WOULD FOOL YOU AND LEAD YOU AWAY FROM THE TASK YOU HAVE SET FOR YOUR- SELVES—THE TASK OF “MAKING A CLEAN SWEEP FOR BETTER GOVERNMENT IN THE STATE.” . : At this convention these politicians and tricksters would have you endorse them or their friends for office. THIS WOULD CONFUSE YOU AND LEAD YOU AWAY FROM SUPPORTING THE MEN YOUR DELE- GATES INDORSE. But be not deceived. s : : g . YOU HAVE LISTENED TO POLITICAL TRICKSTERS OF THIS KIND FOR TWENTY -YEARS AND YOU HAVE PRETTY NEARLY ALWAYS BEEN BETRAYED. e : They have had their chance to serve you honestly and they have failed. Always they were for themselves. -Now it is your turn to show them that you can no longer he fooled and he for yourselves for the common good. . YOU ARE ORGANIZED TO WIN. YOU WILL WIN. NOTHING CAN DEFEAT YOU BUT YOURSELVES. . _If you turn a deaf ear to those tricksters and “go on about your business of making a clean sweep in the state” - YOUR SUCCESS IS CERTAIN. : ; : - But if you listen to them, they will lead you as they always have, to your defeat and their victory. - THIS IS.NOT A LEAGUE CONVENTION. THERE WILL BE NO AUTHORIZED LEAGUE SPEAKERS OR REPRg%EN ATIVES THERE. THIS NOTICE IS AN IMPOSITION, AN INSULT TO YOU AND YOUR ORGAN- . There will be more of these false calls for League conventions. Stay away from them, ~ UNLESS YOU DO STAY AWAY AND STAND ON YOUR OWN FEET YOUR BATTLE IS LOST. ; . Regular League conventions have already been: arranged for in every Legislative district in the state. 3 N 'II;HERE WILL BE NO POLITICIANS AT THESE CONVENTIONS. YOUR DELEGATES ONLY WILL AT- for your good yoix will lézim through {he Leader. %fi%&%fl%@%&M%M%MW%%M@%%%M%M%M%M%M%“%M%“%%Mfi&%%%%WMW%MW%M%@%W%M%M%@%W%fi%@%“ A O R RO RN REREERERE KON RN R RN R AN RN EREABERE NN ERADA RIS Xe $eeeeeeeessasesserrgy P A SR T i i § H E ¥
