D THE NONPARTISAN LEADER A MAGAZINE FOR FARMERS Pearson’s Having Splendid Articles and New Features Pearson’s Magazine for March has some shrewd comment about rural credits bills now pending in congress. It says that the intention is to pass a bill that will relieve the present situa- tion about farm loans and in reality leave the farmer where he is now with his head in the money lender’s yoke, and it calls upon all farmers to unite against the Hollis bill in the senate and the Henry bill in the house, the two measures being practxcally identical and very bad. In this, undoubtedly, Pearsons is perfectly correct and the advice it gives_is sound. But the remarkable fact is that this magazine continues to be the only great magazine of general circulation that pays any at- tention to the farmer and his interests. All the others remember that there are in.the country merchants, ship- pers, manufacturers, bankers, railroad managers and investors, but never once recall that back of all these is the immense farming class on whose labors -all the rest are -supported.
