Fanny Hyde, the Aileged Marderess Ap- tion for a Postponement of Her Trial— Decision Reserved. Before Judge Pratt and Justices Voorhees and Johnson, The application for the postponement of the trial of Mrs, Fanny Hyde, the alleged murderess of George W. Watson, of the Eastern Disirict, was re- newed yesterday evening, to which time the matter wad been adjourned. Mr, Thomas E,- Pearsall, counsel for the accused, read an aMdavit of Mr, Samuel Db. Morris setting forth that it would be utterly impossible for him to be ready for trial at the present term, ‘The aftidavit then continued: Deponent furiher says that his cient and her lolks (a3 aeponeut 1s informed and betleves) are poor and unable to furnish means necessary to be spent in the preparation of the defence, and that deponent and his partner have alveady paid outa considerable sum lor that purpose. ‘That the preparation of the detence devolves mainy upon deponent, and that he is doing the best he can to get ready, Depovent. further says that he firmly believes that his chent has a pose defence to the charge made against her, and that ne will be able to establisa such detence to the satisfaction of anv jury if allowed a reasonable time to make the necessary preparation, but he most solemuniy aeciares that he cannot be prepared to properly defend her tia term | of ine Court. A Reminiscence of “Black Friday.” Before Judge Netison. B.
