Mr. Hanger, of Fredonia, asked why the name of L D Pratt, of Onautanque county, had been left off, his Dome having been submitted as @ reguiar delegate, Mr. Prast’s name was then put oa tae list. Kev. F, WiuiaM Watker, of Brooklyn, took the floor, ana atked why bis name did not appear to the list of delegates, Mr, O, B. Mr. Witcox, of Seneca, then moved that Mr. Walker bo admitted, Mr. W.D Murruy desired to say, before the question ‘was put, that if this proscription policy was to be adopt- ed he should move te exciude from tne Convention all delegates holding offices under the republicans, (Great Spplause) He saw around him several such. Ho (/urphy) would not suffer any man to ait here, if Mr. Waiker was rejected, who was a republican officeholder. Mr. H. J. Iavina denounced the expulsion of Mr. Walker. Mr, Avoxze Tewrer, of Baffalo, moved that Syracuse ‘be the place aud the 7th of Septeasber the time for hold- tpg the State Convention. ‘M> Ricumowp, of Genesee, hoped that no such motion would prevail. Mr. Tanner repudiated the idea by bis motion to sub- mit the party to any indiguity. He-believed the mojerity or the republican party were prepared to unite with the Americans upon honorable terms, end that the leaders only were opposed to it. He beheved to day that the leaders of the republicans were unwilling to mest the Americans at Syracuse on the 7th of September next. He enlarged upon the advantage of an honorable union, citing Erie county as a specimen of such advantages. THE PURCHASED STBAMBRS OF THE LATE PARAGUAY EXPRDITION. Four of the chartered steamers of the late Paraguay expedition, purchaset by the Navy Department, have, since the repairs aad alterations which have been made on them at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, sssumed the respec tabliity and appearance of regular men-of war, rating them at once among the finsst looking vessels of their clare in the United States navy.
