To offect thia, they are obliged to reduce their claims considera. bly, which renders prices weak and irregular, for all other than the very choicest fabrica, of which latter there is a very meagre quantity here. Country dealers are not buying much, and from local jobbers the inquiry is tarne—hence the inactivity. We notice less vigor in brown and bleached sheetings and shirtings. Cotton finnnels are plentier and heavier, being less sought after. Denims, drills and ducks are in moderate request, at previous figures. Ginghams, lawns, and nankeens are sparingly dealt in, and favor purcha- pers, Osnaburgs have not varied much. Printing clothe are ratner more abundant, but are steady, though net active, Prints seem quiet and depressed. Stripes aad ticks are in fair demand, but otMferwise unaltered, Woollen goods are not so active, though they are offered pretty freely, at—in the main—drooping rates. There is a moderate inquiry for a few favorite styles of biankets, at previous quotations. Cassimeres, cloths and doeskins | are quiet, and if anything, on the decline, Flaanels are polling slowly, but regularly, Jeans and lUnseys are tn votive nnd languid, with a fair amount of each in mar ket.
