We have Advice from Albany, of the 27th of May, That the Rhode-Iflanders were all come in, to abott 150, which were then {till wanting to com- pleat them : That the greateft Part of the Connecti- cut Forces arrived there that and the precceding Day: 25 alfo two Regiments of the Maflachafetts, com- tg manded by Brigadier Ruggles ; that the Remainder were in Motion, and might be expeted daily ; as O werelikewife the Remainder of the New- Jerfey For- ces, of whom the major Part were arrived. The fame Day was fent in here by the General Johnfon Privateer, Capt. Little, of this Port, a French Prize Sloop, bound from Hifpaniola to Curacoa, and had 3 Frenchmen on board, who acknowledge her to be French Property. Capt. Little took a Schoon- er the fame Day, which he ranfomed for 1400 Doll. Tur- ner, in a Brig from Kingfton in Jamaica, bound to New Yoik, who had been 20 Days from Port ; by whom he was inform’d, that a Number of Men of War from Jamaica, had entirely deftroyed the pre- fent Trade at Monto Chrifto, having ordered all the Shipping belonging to theNorthward,that were there, at their Arrival, for Jamaica ; eight Sail of which, he fell in with who were bound to that 1fland. The following Veflels, belonging to the refpeétive Ports mentioned, fail’d with Capt. Eafton, viz Capt. Stanton, in a Brig bound to Bofion. Capt. Lee; in 2 Biig bound to Plymouth. Capt Guildford, in a Sloop bound to New Yoik. Capt. Dogget in a Btig bound to Bofton. A Privateer gave Chace to Capt. Eafton, & came up with him ; but upon Examination, difcovering him to be properly piepared for his Reception, and of too great a Force te contend with, fhe immediately tack’d and made the beft of her Way from him, and was purfued {ome Time, but to no Purpofe, the Pri- vateer outfailing Capt. Extral? of a Letter from Providence, (Rhode-Ifland Colony,) dated June 5th 1759, ¢—Laft Night arrived at Briftol, Capt. Angelin 21 Days frem Kingfton, Jamaica, who came cut with three or four Veflels bound to New York, and took the Advantage of a Convoy with a Packet from ‘England : The Fleet were to fail the roth of this Month.—Capt. Angel informs, That before he left Kingfton, two French Frigates were broughtin there, which had been taken by the Dreadnought Man of War and fome of the King’s Ships that were cra:zing: Thefe Frigates depended upon their failing ; on which Account the French thip’'d mottly Indigoon board : Their Cargo colt 4,00,000 Livres, and were bound from Port au-Prince 0 old France, and faid to be the richeflt Prizes earried in there this War.— They were King’s Ships, and each mounted 26 Guns and had taken a Privateer Brig, tho't to be the Pro- vidence of this Port ; and in patting the Men athore were {o near the Land, thatthey could not get Sea- Room enough to efcape the Men of War.—Two Dutchmen were alfo taken and carried into King- fton ; one.of which ftood a fmart Engagement with the Viper Sloop :—They had 5o Tun of Indigo on board each of them :—The four Prizes were reckon- ed to be worth near 300,000 I.
