VERMONTER SLAIN IN QUEBEG GARAGE Brother, Wounded, Escapes—| Police Hold Five Men Hereford, Que., Nov. 13 (#—Pro- vincial police held five men today while they investigated the killing of Reney Malloy, 22, of Norton Mills, Vt. Malloy was shot to death and his brother, Phillip, was wounded at the farm of Vezina Dube, on the Cana- dian side of the border between Ver- mont and Quebec. Police said the Malloy brothers, sccompanied by Joseph Langlois, also of Norton Mills, went to the Dube farm Tuesday night and were surprised by the owner of the farm in a garage. Vezina Dube and his brother, Jo- scph, told police they ordered the intruders out and told them to sur- render. The Malloy brothers fled and were fired upon. Though wounded, Phillip escaped and re- turned to Norton Mills. Langlois, the Dube brothers, Al- bert St. Plerre and Paul Devots, wio were at the farm, were ar- rested Police said they belicved the Mal- loys and Langlois went to the farm to search for liquor. No charges have been placed axainst the five pending an inquest.
