B R R I e et the church at 9 a. m. FURIOUS FIRE AT FRAMINGHAN TODAY Grain Elevator and Nearbyi Buildings Destroyed | Farmingham, Mass., June 24 (#— Fire today destroyed the grain eleva- tor of J. Cushing and company in the center of South Framingham, rear the Framingham station of the | Boston and Albany railroad, and | damaged several adjoining build- | ings. It was still out of control at noon. 1 Among the buildings damaged were the Boston and Albany engine house, a two tenement house and a ten tenement structure. A high | wind scattercd burning embers over roofs of many other buildings. Help was summoned from Natic The fire was brought under con- trol about 1 o'clock after the Cush ing elevator had been completely .stroyed together with several smaller wooden buildings adjoining | the elevator. The damage was es- timated at nearly $100,000 Among the buildings which were slightly damaged were the plant of Armour and company and the offices of Metropolitan district commission. The grain elevator was nearly filled and its contents were destroyed along with a freight car loaded with | grain which stood on a nearby sid- | ing. No one was injured.
