Foster of New | York swam eight miles to the north jetty of the harbor here to bring ald to her husband, who wasdrift- ing out to sca on his yacht, the | Sea Hawk. The Fosters were sailing for Florida from here Tuesday, when the yacht's engine suddenly stopped while the tide was carrying the vessel out to sea, it was revealed today. Mr. Foster, who had just recovered from an operation, was unable to accompany his wife in & rowboat to get help from shore. Her boat soon capsized in the heavy waves and she had to swim eight miles to the breakwater. When she finally reached the jetty, she collapsed in a dead faint and after regaining consclousness walked two miles in bare feet over sharp rocks to the lighthouse where | |her cries for help attracted atten- | tion.
