WIN GREAT CONTEST Accurate Shooting of Johnny Sheehan Puts Victory Over What zoes down as one of the greatest basketball games of the seu- son resulted in a victory for the local Kaceys last night at the State Armory, when the Maples A. C. of New Haven was nosed out 3% to 38, in a contest that was filled with thrills. While the ontire New Britain quintet displayed one of the best exhibitions of the season, to Johnny Shochan and Stevie Dudack, the bulk of credit belongs. It was a shot from the foul line with the score tied, with but a few seconds of playing time left, that Sheehan dropped the ball in the basket for the score that spelled victory for the lo- cals, Dudack by his wonderful ficld goal tossing kept the local in the running. Stevie registered seven baskets, five of which were made in the second half. One of his goals was the prettiest of the night, a side arm shot that landed the ball through the rim Yisiters Were Popular Of the visiters it might be said. that (he team was one of the cleanest that has ever invaded a local court. Restelli Falls Down The team play of the v s was pretty to watch, and in rbanks, Moessner and Shatzman, a better’trio has not shown here this season. Reforee Dick Dillon called 16 fouis on the visiters, but in no instance was there any kick registered over the penalties. After Restelli had failed dismally in four attempts to score from the foul line, Sheehan to i the task, and out of 12 chances, WALLACE REID —in— SICK A BED PALACE THURS.—FRL—SAT. CHAS. Tedder and Jimmy Play Well Captain Tedder Kilduff and Jimmy Murphy both play a whale of a game, the locals’ leader getting four pretty field goals, while Murphy proved thorn in the slde of the visiting forwards throughout the battle. Sheehan started the scoring after three minutes of play. with a pippin from the center of the floor. New Britain quickly ran the score up to four points, before the visiters broke the scoring ice.
