The Connecticut tax commissioner has extended the time when the state income tax will be due until August 1st. The bills will be sent out to all corporations carrying on opera- tions in Connecticut liable to the state tax on August 1, 1920 and the tax will be payable to the state treasurer on or befora September 1, 1920. If the tax is not paid by Sep- tember 1st, interest at the rate of 9 por cent per annum will accrue. If the corporation has not yet flled its final return with the federal government, it will ba necessary for a tentative return to be filed here. The state tax will be billed upon the tentative return pending adjustment upon he receipt of the final Teturn The tax commissioner has extended the time for the payment of the tax this year because of the many cor- porations which received an exten- sion of time in the filing of their fed- eral report. this necessitating an ex- tension of time for the filing of the state return. West Palm Beach, July 13.—Rich- ard Croker, former chief of Tammany Hall, having been adjudged mentally competent to handle his affairs, an- nounced today that he and Mrs. Craoker would sail for Ireland Satur- day. Their trip was delayed by a temporary injunction granted last March to Howard Croker, his son. The son sought to have his father and step-mother, Bula E. Croker, In- dian princess, barred from disposing af the elder Croker’s Florida proper- ty, estimated to be valued at nearly a million dollars, and contended that his father was not mentally fit to care for his affairs and was unduly influenced in the disposition of his property by Mrs. Croker.
