The coroner holds no one responsible for the death. Re- ferring to the use of chloroform in such cases the finding of the coro- ner sa) “From my investigation of this and other cases where chloro- form is used as an anaesthetic I am of the opinion the use of chloroform as an anaesthetic in both major and minor operations is attended with danger, even in the hands of the most expert physician or surgeon and | that it should never be administered unless by a competent anaesthetist. “I am also of the opinion other anaesthetics can be used in said op- erations, the use of which is not at- tended with the same danger as is that attendant upon the use of chlor- oform."” WATERBURY MAN HEADS BANKERS and skilled ‘W. Degree Team of the Ladies Auxiliary, A. O. H. Take Competitive Prize. Congratulations today are showered upon the members of the Ladies’ Auxillary, A. O. H. degree team for their fine work in Terryville last night when they won a silver cup in a competitive drill. The team made a fine showing, the members being dressed in white and wearing white shoes. : . The prize drill was strictly military and was judged by three military men. It required just twenty-six fninutes to execute the drill and when Colonel McGowan announced the decision a burst of applause followed. Miss Anna C. Mawé is éaptain = of {he degree team and Miss Margaret Souney, pianist. The Bristol auxil- jary team gave a very pretty fancy drill.
