PROFITABL T Fast Course On Tariff Bill WASHINGTON (#—Two House committees set a fast course today for a bill to extend for another year President Eisenhower’s pow- er to lower U.S. tariffs in agrte- ments with other nations which lower theirs. Known as the Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act, the law which the House bill would keep in effect is presently scheduled to expire at Saturday. House leaders want to get the extension bill to the Senate in time for action there next week if pos- sible. While that would be after the deadline, a temporary lapse of the 20-year-old law would not af- feet reciprocal trade agreements already on the books. Eisenhower originally had re- quested a three-year extension of the controversial program in line with recommendations of a special commission on foreign economic icy headed by Clarence B. all, president of Inland Steel Co.
