Central Fireplace In Living Area Is Feature Of Home| $15,000 Permit Is Taken Out For Sunrise Dr. House Construction of what promises to be one of Key West’s most modern and un- usual homes began this past week at 3508 Sunrise Drive. A permit for $15,000 for the construction of the resi- dence was taken out by the CBS Construction Company which is building the home for Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Mil- ler of the Mar-Ed Dress Shop here. The main feature of the home is a huge living-room area built a- found a central fireplace and bar- becue, The living room is 15 feet by 22 feet and the dining area, 9% by 10% feet. No Separation Ther is no wall separating these two areas. Other rooms in the home include | @ kitchen and two bedrooms. A double garage is attached. The overall dimensions of the house are about 56 feet by 38 feet. It sits in an almost square lot, 97% feet by 100 feet. The rear of the house is 36 feet from a canal. The new home is being built of concrete block and stucco and slump brick. The interior wails will be plaster and the roof of built-up gravel. Covered Patio The patio of the home will be roofed with Corrulux, a translucent plastic sheeting that admits light but stops direct sun light and rain, The material is resistant to fire, Tot, insects and it can be worked with the usual wood-working tools. Montgomery Atwater, of Miami, was the architect. Home Building Permits Lead Week’s List Besides the $15,000 permit for the E. W. Miller home on Sunrise Drive, CBS Construction Company took out two other permits for homes during the past week. One is for $8,000 for Herman Knight at 2510 Staples and the other is for R. Carbonell for $7,- 000 at 1215 Fifth St. Other permits on file at city hall were; G. Schroeder, two permits for $350 and $300 to paint house at 417 and 419 Simonton. (Continued on Page Seven) Mazur Receives Bay Bottom Land, Deed Here Reveals Bay bottom land off the beach at the Atlantic Shores Motel, 510 South St., has been transferred to the owners of the motel, accord- ing to a deed on file today in the Office-of the county clerk. The Trustees of the Internal Im- provement Fund transferred .32 acres of bay bottom land to Mor- ris Mazur and his wife, Hilda. The price was $64. Last year when Mazur first mov- ed to buy the land from the state, he said he wanted to fill the bay bottom land and build a pool there. He already has an okay from the Army Engineers to fill the land and dredge a pool. Sale Of Motel On Lower Matecumbe Key Heads Warranty Deeds; Real Estate Sales Increase $42,000 Is Figure Given For 10-Unit Motel, Two Lots Real estate sales in Monroe County stepped up this past week with one of the largest being the sale of two lots and a 10-unit mo- tel on Lower Matecumbe Key. The concrete-block and stucco motel was sold by Helen F.. Lane to Elmer Barker for $42,000. The lots involved are No, 41 and 42 in Block 3 in Matecumbe Ocean Bay Subidivision. Violet McDouglas sold 40 acres of Monroe County land to C. H. Haviland for $600. Two lots in Knowlson Colony Sub- division, Key Largo, were sold by Laura Otto Knowleson to Charles H. Knowles for $1,000. A lot in Lime Grove Subdivision was sold by Alvin N. Davidson to William L. Zellers for $9,000. Edward H. Albee sold a lot on Big Coppitt to J. W. Donnell for $4,000. A lot at Virginia and Margaret Streets was sold by Nell M. Haury to C. D. Riggs, Jr., for $4,500. Edward A, Ambler, Jr., sold two Key West lots to Gerald Schnae- delbach for $2,000. Three lots on Upper Matecumbe Key were sold by Herman C. Flier, to Martin Mangels, Jr., for $12,000. Ivar Axelson sold 140 acres of Monroe County land to Jack Sitko and Harry Klein for $2,200. Two lots on Upper Matecumbe Key were sold by G. E. Patter- son to D. R. Smith for $18,000. Sadowski and Son sold the fol- lowing lots in Little Venice Sub- division: One lot to J. P.
