Conchs Down Typhoons For Second Straight Win kik Second Leg O KK LS Gates Hurls Two-Hitier In 7-1 Win The Key West High School baseball team explod- ed for six runs in the first two innings last night to down the Miami Beach Ty- phoons for the second time in as many evenings. The score was 7-1. The win kept the Conch record intact for two starts thus far this season. Pint sized Gibby Gates, took the hill last night and allowed the Beachmen just two hits in racking up the victory. Key West is pacing the Gold Coast Conference as a re- sult of the victories. The Key West trip proved to be somewhat frustrating for the Beach aggregation when their pre- viously undefeated record was marred and they managed to gar- ner but three hits and two runs in the two tilts, The Conchs lambasted the beach men with seven hits last night in- ft doubles by Henriquez, ates and Salgado. Miami Beach made it a ballgame in the first inning when they plated a single counter but after that they were in the ballgame. The Conchs another run in the third pair of costly errors by right Les Colodny hurt the Ty- cause considerably. Julio Santana fielded brilliantly at shortstop for Key West. The Conchs will go back into action next( Friday at 2 p. m. scree the West Palm Beach Pe H PO e242 ee 0 3 04 0 6 oo 2s 0 3 0 0 MoOKOoWwWwooPr CONCHS (7) Player— Gates, p ....
