Six Missing After Air Force Plane Crashes In Nevada RENO, (#—An Air Force C-47 transport with a;crew of five and one passenger is missing in the Nevada-Utah border region but the | assistant commander of Stead Air Farce Base is hopeful they made | am emergency landing. “The plane is a tough old bird and the crew is experienced,” said Col. Dimitrios Stampados at near- by Stead AFB. “I feel they’ve pro- bably put down on some prairie and we'll find them.” Air Force and Civil Air Patrol Planes began a search at dawn for the C-47, and also for rancher Ivan Hart’s private plane missing in the game area. The transport vanished in a blind- ing snowstorm on a flight from Pe- terson Field, Colofado Springs, to Reno.
