The local talent showed up ex- tremely well in the entire play, keeping audience interest and get- ting laughs throughout the three- act comedy. Carrying the play with the aplomb of an experienced actress was Nell Weymouth in the role of Mary. Although this was Mrs. Weymouth’s first leading role, she maintained throughout the play her character as the eager young sweetheart of a returning soldier, The soldier, John, was played by James McLaughlin whe enact- ed the part of the worried ser- geant whose faithful girl wants to marry him post haste, post war. McLaughlin is an able young actor, who was happily cast in the role he portrayed. Comedy is definitely his forte, and one is impressed with the feeling that at present he should stick to such light roles as the one he has in the present pro- duction. Howard Pitman, in the role of Rusty, a service buddy of John’s who saved his life while they. were overseas, was the pet of the audience throughout the play, Straight comedy was the line his role followed, and Pitman’s dead- pan expression and natural-seem- ing bits of by-play were scream- ingly funny with no apparent real effort on the part of the actor. For the rest of the east, Ann Carleton was excellent in the role of the senator’s charming wife, with Joe Lazarovici ably ‘filling the spot as the bombastic sena- tor. ‘ Jonatha Jackson. was quit - lieyable in - rt nt ge sol KOOL SEAL Paint for Trailer Tops Thompson Enterprises, \Inc. Judge Eva Warner Gibson, after a hearing in Juvenile Court, ruled that the tall, slim, good-looking youth, who came here aboard. a shrimp boat from his north Florida home, be given a one-way bus ticket back to his family. Questioning at the hearing brought out the fact that the youth, with the permission of his parents had boarded the shrimp boat, simply because he “wanted to be a shrimper.” He had been engaged in shrimp fishing for two weeks, until Sun- day, when he said that his ship- Continued On Page Eight) Shedds To Visit Here Thanksgiving Arriving this afternoon from Bradenton, Fla., and Mobile, Ala., are Major General and Mrs, W.
