Page 8 AP Sets News Conferences With RadioMen NEW YORK 1 — A committee Of Associated Press member radio Station representatives has Yaunched an intensive program of mutual study and action designed to have far-reaching effects on aews broadcasting. They deseribe the program as marking “a significant stride in the further perfection and refine- ment of news for broadcast to meet changing times,” and as “a forward step in assisting member stations to make increasingly ef- fective and profitable use’ of AP news. The seven-man committee was authorized by the Board of Direc- tors of The Associated Press, and was invited by AP General Mana- ger Frank Starzel to hold its or- ganization meeting in New York this week. Officers elected by the commit- tee are: chairman, Les Mewhin- ney, news director of KHJ, Los Angeles; vice chairman, M. H Bonebrake president and general manage of KOCY, Oklahoma City; secretary, ‘Tom Eaton, news di- rector, WTIC, Hartford, Conn.
