At Initial Meeting \ At the first meeting of the Key West High School P. T. A. Tuesday evening, School Superintendent Ho- race O’Bryant urged all voters to vote “yes” on Amendment 1 No- vember 4. He explained that the amend- ment authorizes the state to ear- mark funds for the schools from the car license plate taxes. Thus the school authorities would be as where they enjoyed plentiful re- sured in advance of state school support in proportion equal to the present capital outlay. One reason for the amendment, he .added, is that it will effect an estimated sav- ing of a million dollars in interest by so assuring the school aid in advance so that they may borrow at lower interest rates. Mr. O’Bryant was one of the special guests of the evening intro- duced by Mrs. Robert Dopp, PTA president. Others present were Ge- rald Adams and Earl Duncan of the Monroe County School Board and Joe Boza of the board of trus- tees. The 44 faculty members of the school were introduced by Princi- pal E. O. Schweitzer, who noted that three new members have been added to the staff to keep pace with the growth of the school and with pupil needs. After the introduction the guests spent an informal hour of fellow- ship in the Senior High Patio, freshments provided by the hospi- tality committee of the PTA. Members of the hospitality com- mittee are: Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Watson, Mr. and Mrs, Kellar Wat- son, Mrs. Dorothy Sweeting, Mrs. Marion Pritchard, Mrs. Anna Cor- mack, Mrs. Hilda McMahon, Mrs. Dorothy Claxton, Mrs. Florence Key, Mrs. Anna Gates, Mrs. Fay Dickens, Mrs. Eula Sawyer, Mrs. Elizabeth Singleton, Mrs. Dorothy Knowles, Mrs. Alice Roberts, Mrs. Gerry Pinder, and Mrs. Irene Brooks.
