UPON THE SUBJECT OF “DOG RACING” It is with deep emotion and pride that I return to Key West—the city of my early child. hood days. It was here I received my boyhood training. Each classroom through which I passed holds memories dear to me. I do not pretend to be a home boy, nor that the project I sponsor is entitled to your vote because I previously resided here. I do, however, beg your indulgence and privilege of winning your confidence to support me in the coming election on the Dog track issue. I admit there are always two sides to every ques- tion and as long as there are human beings of good will and sincerity, there will be differences of opinion. Of one thing I am certain however. My life has been spent in Southeastern Florida, It has been an open book. I have never been associated with racketeers—not personally—and not in any capacity as an attorney—and I do not intend to do it at this time in my career. If then it is pleas- ing to some to polish and to make shine the brilliance of their own reputations, by making rash statements that the approval of the dog track means the entrance of racketeers into this land of my youth, who am I to deny them such a privilege? I hope and intend to bring before you, the eltizens of Key West, positive and convincing proof to the contrary. For my own part, I ean now assert and assure the citizens of Key West that the men associated with me are men of high calibre and repu- tation in the business and industry of the nation. We hope to bring to you the merits of dog racing to Key West between now and the elee- tion. In the meanwhile, thanks to all for the opportunity of expressing our views. Respectfully Submitted, ABE ARONOVITZ, Pres. Key West Kennel Club, Ine, Page?
