NEWS OF INTEREST TO WOMEN MARY ROBERTS, Society Editor La Concha Navy Plans For Wives Make Conclave Delegates The La Concha Navy Wives’ Club 88, at its weekly meeting yesterday morning, completed plans for six members who will the Naval Air Station at Boca attend the Southeastern Regional Convention on May 8 and 9 in * Jacksonville, Fla. Navy Wives’ Club 86 will be hostesses during the convention The Key West delegates will leave here on Monday. Thoses who will attend the con-. clave, quartered at the Naval Air Station are: Mrs. Mike Uhrig, act- ing parliamentarian; Mrs. John Stankiewitcz, corresponding secre- tary; Mrs. Lee Carden, vice-presi- dent; and Mrs. Evans R. Clarey, publicity. The regional membership Drive Trophy and the Regional Scrap Book Trophy awards will bd made at the convention. Nominations were made from the floor for four members names to be submited to the national convention in October in Chicago, Ill. These nominations have to be presented at the regional con- vention where they are voted on and submitted to the national for the final vote. Poinciana Club Plans Bake Sale Saturday, May 12 Arrangements for a cake and pie sale were made at the meet- ing of the Poinciana Social Club which met yesterday at the Com- munity Building. The sale will be held May 12 at 10 a.m. in front of the Merry Mac on Duval and Fleming streets, with the com- pliments of Mr. Louis Carbonell. ITEMS Chap. Palubricki Of Air Station Is Transferred Chaplain Gregory Palubicki of Chica has been transferred aboard the USS Sierra. Chaplain Palu- bicki, also baseball representa- tive for the air station, will leave about May 15. He’ will be relieved by Chap- lain Edward O. Riley from the ‘}Chapiain School at Newport, R. I, Chaplain Riley, who is starting his first assignment, is due to ar- rive here this week.
