U.SiN. :(Retired) "The Servicemen’s Indemnity Act: of. 1951, which became law on April 25, gives automatic in- surance, without cost, to those in the ‘service. = This free insurance covers (1) ail persons in the active service ft the Army, Navy, Air Force. fine Corps and Coast Guard; {2}some persons in the Reserves and-National Guard ande other Special igroups. We will discuss Grohp 2 in a later release. The free insurance provided by the government is $10,000 per person, no more, no less. Even if you are already paying for GI insurance you will still be cov- eréd’* by only a $10,000 death benefit,; just the same as the fel- low who isn’t paying anything for his..
