It is to laugh to see Jack_ Dauber, that irrepressibly funny comedian, play the part of the tramp in Breezy Time.” The dance given by the Royal Neighbors at Village hall last evening was quite largely attended and an en- joyable time was had. Frank Carson of Bemidji, brother- in-law of F, A. King and C. C. Miller, was struck by lightening during the severe electric storm Tuesday evening and rendered insensible. He was taken to the Bemidji’ hospital where he soon recovered his faculties. The electrict, hail, wind and rain storm of last Tuesday evening did not do as much actual damage as its ac- tions indicated during the time it was in operation. Several telephones were knocked senseless about town and some damage to roads are re- ported, but nothing serious. A car was dumped into the Miss- issippi river yesterday afternoon at the log landing just east of town. The Joad became over balanced and de- hiberately.turned a summersalt into the river. ‘Ihe patent couplers work- ed perfectly and when the car raised up it became released from the other of Senator Mark Hanna, W. F, Fitch of the Duluth South Shore & Atlantic railroad, Capt. Wolvan and J. D. Jones, the iron man, It is expected that work on these properties will begin at once. D. M. Philbin con- ducted the negofiations. The enterprising advertiser is a benefit to his community. So 1s the enterprising business man. A thought- ful citizen remarked in a public way not long ago that the man who was of most value to his community was the one who reached out most for business that was not coming to his town and induced the extensive trading of that class in that place. The man who wants to get the name of being a benefit and.credit to his home town should think of this point when con- sidering how fo push his business and when he 1s doing an injustice to him- self in stopping his effort.
