Youths Benefifed By Chest Enfering ‘Emblem Confest Older Boys and Girls at Several Chest Agencies Are Making Insignia ‘Young men and women who know the Community Ches well, because they are among those receiving its services, are entering the $175 prize contest for design of an official Chest emblem, it was learned today. Stanleigh Jenkins, art instructor at the Boys’ Club of Washington, said that older youths at the club are crystalizing their ideas of what the Community Chest means to the community by creating symbols to enter in the insignia contest. Girls of St. Rose's Technical Bchool for Girls, another Chest agency, are also entering. Among the neighborhood houses where older youngsters are working on emblem entries are Friendship House, Christ Child House, South- west House and Southeast House. The competition, for creation of an emblem for permanent, year- around use on Chest stationery and for other display, is open to any one in Washington or vicinity of at least high school age—except employes of The Star or Chest headquarters. Public school students, art school pupils and private individuals are among those competing. Here are the official contest in- structions: All entries must be brought to the business counter or mailed to Contest Editor, The Evening Star, Eleventh street and Pennsylvania avenue NW. They must be accom- panied by the contestant’s name, address, telephone number and school, if any. All must be brought to The Star by 11 p.m. May 7, or if mailed must | bear a postmark no later than that date. Designs may be executed in black or white or not more than two colors. Ink, charcoal, crayon, water color or other suitable medium will be permitted. All must be drawn or mounted on white cardboard measuring about 18 by 22 inches. A 2-inch border must be allowed. All entries will become property of the Community Chest. Mrs. William C. Rigby Dies at Walter Reed Mrs. Grace Gilruth Rigby, wife of | Col. William C. Rigby, U. S.
