Murphy, the business of the firm will be continued by the surviving partners without interrup- tion and under the same name.” Exchange Opening Calm Today. ‘The rush to the Washington brok- erage houses continued today for the opening of the New York Exchange. The opening was irregular, with a ma- fority of the s r than they | closed yesterday. Trading was very sctive but without any of the excite- ment of yesterday's break. Interest in the market is astonish- ing, judging by the number of people watching the translux quotations and the number of telephone calls asking for information. Phone calls came in #o fast at one time vesterday that at least one firm could get no oumde1 lines for a long time. There appeared to be no lull in interest today and the advances in many stocks brought much more optimism. Cumberland Bonds Awarded.
