Chavelle of Seattle, were married Wednesday eve- ning, September 8, in St. Luke's Epis- copal Church in Monrovia, the Rev, Canon E. B. Smith officiating. The altar was decorated with white flowers. The bride, who was given in mar- riage by her brother, wore an ivory satin gown made on princess lines with an insert of old rose point lace at the neckline. Her long tulle veil was fastened to a coronet of the rose point lace and she carried a bouquet of stephanotis, lilies of the valley and white orchids. Mrs. James Nathan Walker was the matron of honor, wearing a white marquisette gown with bands of lace inserted at the top and a belt of mag- enta rose ribbon. With this she wore 8 white tulle halo hat with a ribbon of magenta rose and she carried a bouquet of matching tuberous be- gonias, The other attendants were Miss Ruth Bowers of S8an Mateo, Miss Cyn- thia Elizabeth Scott, Mrs. Louis Walsh O'Bryan and Mrs. Gaston Soulard Turner, whose gowns were like that of the matron of honor’s. The belts on the gowns and the bands on the hats were of crimson ribbon and they carried bouquets of crimson tuberous begonias. Mr. C. Kenneth Chavelle of Holly- wood, Calif., was the best man and the ushers were Mr. William J. Millard, Jjr,, of Olympia, Wash.; Mr. Carl Pru- zan of Seattle, Mr. Austin B. McLain and Mr. Marvin Kuppinger of Pasa- Long Beach, and Mr. James N, Walker of Arcadia, Calif. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the garden of the home of the bride’s mother. The bride attended the National Cathedral School and graduated from Gunston Hall in Washington. Later she attended the University of Arizona, where she was a member of Kappa | Alpha Theta Sorority. The bridegroom graduated from school in Lawrence- ville, N. J.; Stanford University, and now attends the University of Wash- ington Law School. F Sherwood, officiating at 4 o'clock in the presence of the bride’s family and a few close friends. Mrs. Felder wore a wine-color crepe street dress, with black accessories and a shoulder cluster of talisman roses and lilies of the valley.
