PHILADELPHIA, July 28.—The Aluminum Co. of America won yes- terday the right to appeal to the United States Supreme Court from a ruling of a special expediting court permitting the Government to pro- ceed in New York with its anti-trust 8uit against the company. The expediting court refused the company a supersedeas, however, which would stay proceedings in the New York Federal District Court un- | til the Supreme Court has acted upon the appeal. Leon E. Hickman, counsel for the company, sought the supersedeas on the ground the company was taking an appeal immediately. He argued | the case. Speaking for the court, Judge J. By the Assoctated Press. The Labor Department estimated that 4,500,000 man-days of work were lost last month because of strikes. A preliminary survey showed 575 strikes started during June, that 300 were in progress June 1 and that 530 ended during the month.
