NEW YORK, May 18.—New York Stock Exchange representatives have been conferring with the Securities and Exchange Commission with a view to formulating a policy on suspending shares from trading. Negotiations have been carried on for the exchange by representatives of the committee on stock list which determines whether shares ahall be admitted to trading privileges. At the exchange it was stressed conferences were in no way the result of a belief any specific security now listed should be suspended or stricken from trading. The size of a company and the potential breadth of trading in its stock have in the past been im- portant yard-sticks by which eligibil- ity for admission to the list have been measured. If we cashed a check for a customer when he had insufficient funds to cover it we would, in effect, be him money that belonged to someone elee. If we did this for him, other depositors of our bank would be entitled to the same consideration. Banks are required to list all overdrawn checks on their books as overdrafts. Such overdrafts are discouraged by all banking authorities and banks which permit them are subject to censure by the bank examiners. Conscientious, fair service to all customers, is the basis of all bank rules. McLachlen Banking Corporation Since 1891 TENTH AND G STREETS, N. W. S.W. Branch, 12th and Maryland Ave. S.W.
