Today, noon Prev. day. - Month ' ago- (Compiled by the Assoclated Press.) By the Assoclated Press, NEW YORK, April 23.—Support spread itself unevenly in the bond market today, being particularly light in the United States Government list. Most of the Federals fell back fur- ther under moderate selling. Treas- uries renewed their sagging trend al- most at the outset and by midday showed many losses ranging from 2-32 to 9-32 of a point. Government bond circles displayed interest in the weekly bank statement disclosure that the Federal Reserve System halted buying operations dur- ing the period covered by the state- ment following two weeks of active support. But it was also noted that reporting member banks in New York made further sales of United States Governments to the amount of $30.000.000. The corporate bond list moved aim- lessly in early dealings, with little evidence of activity in any sector. Most of the trading leaders continued in a reactionary mood, though losses were small. Moderately higher prices were paid for Consolidated Edison 334s, International Paper 5s, Interna- tional Telephone 5s and Pacific Gas 3%s. Rails remained within a narrow orbit, with loans of Southern Railway, Union Pacific and New York Central “ slipping back fractions to around a point. Alleghany Corp. 5s and Penn- sylvania 4'ss were a little improved. Bunker Iiill Votes 4-For-1 Split-Up, Dividend Ordered Es the Assoclated Press.
