SOCIETY. Mme. Bonnet Guest Yesterday at Tea of Newspaper Women 'HE members of the Newspaper Women's Club had as their guest of honor at tea yesterdny Mme. Bon- net, wife of the Ambassudor of Fran The party wax held at the headqua ters of the club at the Admiral at 1640 Rhode Island avenue, which was at one time the home of the French Em- bassy. ‘The guests were received by Miss Margaret Hart, president of the club, and Mme. Bonnet in the club rool Mme. Bonnet wore a black gown, which had a cluster of pink flowers At the neckline. The crown of her small black hat was also filled with the same flowers. Punch was served by Mrs. Jacob Leander Loose in that room, which was decorated with bowls of narcissus and jonquils. Alternating at the tea table in the ball room were Mrs. Cordell Hull, wife of the Secretary of State, who wore a black ensemble with a turban banded with a row of tiny white flowers: Mr: Henry Morgenthau, wife of the Secre- tary of the Treasury, in navy blue, both assoclate members of the club; Mrs Arthur Mullen, Mrs, McGerr and Mis Margaret Germond, treasurer of the club. The table had as a centerpiece & bowl of yellow roses, which were sent by Mr. E. A. Harriman, president of the Harvard Club, who is ill. Mrs. |} Harriman, who is also an associate member, was present. Among others who attended yester- day were Mrs. Daniel C. Roper and Mrs. Claude A. Lieut. Williams was graduated from the United States Naval Academy in the class of 1933 and is now stationed in the Submarine School at New London. The wedding will take place June 4 and the couple will leave immediate- ly for Honolulu, Hawaii, where Lieut ‘Williams will be stationed in the Sub- marine Force.
