B—4 Spring Weddings Announced Miss Anita Dunlop Bride of Dr. Si- monton. thilda Margaret Berthiaume, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur M. Ber- thiaume of McLean, and Mr. Donald Charles Beckler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Beckler of South Bend, Ind. The ceremony was performed by the rector, the Rev. Peyton Randolph Wil- liams, at 8 o'clock, and as the guests assembled Mrs. Harry Abell, church organist, gave a program of nuptial music and accompanied Mrs. Edith Gantt, who sang “At Dawning” and “I Love You Truly.” Mrs. Abell also played the traditional wedding marches. The quaint little church was ef- fectively decorated with Easter lilies, stately palms and candelabra. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin, made on princess lines, with a high neckline, long, tight-fitting sleeves and a long train. Her veil of illusion net was becomingly arranged about her face in a halo effect and caught with tiny clusters of orange blossoms, and she carried a white prayer book which had a shower marker of white satin ribbons and lilies of the valley. Miss Mary M. O'Connor of Wash- Ington was the maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Rose Cushman of Washington and Miss Grace Glan- ders of Alexandria. They wor cos- tumes of net over satin, with large satin flowers appliqued on the net. The basque-effect bodices had short, puffed sleeves and the skirts were long and quite full. Miss O'Connor was in chartreuse net and Miss Cushman and Miss Glanders wore periwinkle blue. All three attendants wore turbans of net to match their gowns and they carried old-fashioned bouquets. Mr. Charles Harding Richardson of McLean acted as best man for Mr. Beckler and the ushers were Mr. Leighton Morgan of Washington and Mr. Charles Clark of McLean. The ceremony was followed by a re- ception in St. John's Parish Hall, when the couple was assisted in re- ceiving by Mrs Berthiaume, mother of the bride, who wore a printed chif- fon with a corsage bouquet of gar- denias, and by Mrs. Beckler, mother of the bridegroom, who was attired in navy blue and likewise wore a shoul- der cluster of gardenias. Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. Beckler left on a wedding trip, which Wwill take them on a motor tour of the South, and when they return around April 19 they will reside at McLean. The bride’s traveling costume was % gray wool tailleur, trimmed with fox, with which she wore navy blue accessories. Mr. Beckler was graduated from Notre Dame University and is now employed by the Farm Credit Ad- ministration. Mrs Beckler was grad- uated from the Franklin-Sherman High School at McLean and Strayer College in Washington. Out-of-town guests at the wedding, in addition to Mrs. Charles L. Beckler of South Bend, Ind.. included Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sherman of Wyomissing, Pa. ¥¥ Miss Rosalie Johnson Bride of Mr. Walters. MISS ROSALIE JOHNSON, daugh- ter of Mrs. Anne Cabell John- son, and Mr. Charles Stanley Walters were married yesterday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Francis de Sales Church with Rev. Cotter R. Fitz- gerald officiating. The bride wore a gown of angel- ekin lace, over satin, made on princess lines with an Elizabethan collar and a tulle veil over her long train. Her headdress was made on the style of Mary, Queen of Scotland. Miss Frances Johnson attended her, wear- ing a gown of peach taffeta with a peach poke bonmet and blue acces- sories and carried an old-fashioned nosegay. The bride was given in mar- riage by her brother, Mr. Shields Johnson. The bridegroom had as his best man his cousin, Mr. Stanley Banes. The ushers were Mr. Pearson Stan- ley, another cousin of the bridegroom, Mr. Joseph King, Mr. Vincent Buck- ley and Mr. Richard Roberts. The bride’s mother wore a blue lace gown with a black hat and a corsage bouquet of Columbia roses. Mrs. Ella S. Walters, mother of the bridegroom, wore a thistle lace gown with navy accessories and a corsage bouquet of gardenias. Miss Marjorie Sigmund Wed To Mr. Levin Sunday. THE wedding of Miss Marjorie Sig- mund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Sigmund, and Mr. Bernard J. Levin, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Levin of Roanoke, Va, took place Sunday at noon followed by a buffet break- fast at the home of the bride at the Broadmoor. The ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Dr. Abram Simon, was witnessed by the immediate rela- tives of the young couple. The bride wore a gray ensemble. The dress was of gray crepe with a high neckline and short puffed sleeves, narrow bands of the same material outlining the sleeves and the bottom of the flared skirt. A cluster of henna berries was at the neckline. Her coat was of gray SOCIETY. with a collar of gray fox fur and her hat was a small off-the-face model of gray felt, trimmed in darker gray grosgrain ribbon with short streamers. Black accessories and a shoulder spray of pale yellow orchids com- pleted the costume. Mr. and Mrs. Levin left later in the afternoon on the Norfolk boat and will motor to Miami Beach, Fla., on their wedding trip, stopping in Atlanta, Ga. After April 15 they will be at home at the Glendale Apartment, Albe- marle street, Roanoke, Va. The bride attended the Ohio State University and the bridegroom gradu- ated from Washington and Lee Uni« versity, Lexington, Va. and is en- gaged in business in Roanoke. Among the out-of-town guests here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. J. Levin, parents of the bride- groom, and Miss Lucille Levin, the bridegroom’s sister. Miss Edith Koons Bride Of Col. Mitchell. 'HE marriage of Miss Edith Mott Koons and Col. Lennard H. Mitchell took place Saturday in the library at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Koons, at 2634 Garfield street northwest, Rev. H. H. D. Sterrett of All Souls’ Me- morial Church officiating. The bride, who Was given in mar- riage by her father, wore a traveling suit of thistle color with navy blue accessories. Immediately following the cere- mony, Mr. and Mrs. Koons enter- tained the guests at the wedding, who, due to the illness of Mrs. Koons, con- sisted only of the immediate family, at a luncheon at their home. The decorations were white hyacinths, hydrangeas and Easter lilies. Col. and Mrs. Mitchell left in the early afternoon for New York. They will be at the Waldorf-Astoria until April 1, when they sail for Panama and a South American tour. Upon their return to Washington in May they will reside at 2657 Woodley road. I The ceremony, which was per- formed at 4 o'clock by the Rabbi Gold= berg, was witnessed by the members of both families and several intimate friends and followed by a dinner. The bride, who was given in mar- riage by her father, wore a gown fashioned on princess lines of white satin with long sleeves and high neck line with insertions of lace at the neck line. Her veil was of tulle, which was held in place with a circlet of orange blossoms and she carried a white Bible, from which hung an orchid. Mrs. Charles Block, the bride’s | aunt, was matron of honor and her other attendants were her two sis- ters, Miss Selma Feldman and Miss Eileen Feldman, as maids of honor. Dr. Ellis April of this city acted as best man. Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Tash left for New York, where they spent several days, sailing Thursday on a cruise to the West Indies, and upon their return to Washington will be at the Hay-Adams House. Among those from this city who attended the wedding were the Rev. and Mrs. William Tash, Dr. Ellis April and Mr. and Mrs. Sol Taishoff.
