NEW YORK, December 2.—Railroad liens commanded major interest in the bond market today as certain of the low-priced reorganization issues regis- tered soaring gains. Industrial and utility divisions de- veloped no outstanding action during the early tvading and prices were mixed and narrow. United States Govern- ments were supplied at levels somewhat under the previous finals, excepting Treasury 2%s of 1951, which made a small gain. A 5-point rise in New Haven Rail- road collateral 6s of 1940 and gains of 3 or more in convertible 6s and 4l3s prompted many inquiries in investment channels, but nothing was uncovered immediately to explain the unusual strength. Loans of St. Louis-San Francisco, Rock Island, Missouri Pacific and Chi- cago Northwestern also moved for- ward spiritedly, accompanied by a number of rails in the higher price brackets. o INVESTING COMPANIES 'ORK.
