Jones, 50, Farm Credit Administration expert, who died Sat- urday of a heart attack at his %esi- dence in the New Colonial Hotel, was buried yesterday in Lexington, Ky. Mr. Jones was stricken while alone in his room, but managed to call the hotel office and then collapsed. A physician was summoned, but he died within a few minutes. He had been principal agricultural economist in the Co-operative Divi- sion, Farm Credit Administration, and was a recognized expert on relation problems of co-operative farming and marketing associations. A native of Murray, Ky.. he was a graduate of Georgetown College (Ken- tucky) and Chicago University. He came here as a specialist in co-opera- tive marketing for the Agriculture De- partment in 1926. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. ‘Winona Jones of Lexington; a daugh- ter, Miss Ann Elizabeth Jones, student at Chicago University, and brother, R. S. Jones, of Richmond, Va. VA R Slow Driver Fined. A native of Cumberland, Mr. Shaf- fer was president of a business col- lege there before coming here. Active in many organizations, he was past grand chancellor of the Maryland Knights of Pythias, a mem- ber of Knights of Pythias Lodge No. 60, Cumberland, and an associate | member of Webster Lodge, K. P., this city. He belonged to the Pythian Sisters and the Pentalpha Lodge of Masons and was a past patron of Gavel Chapter, O. E. S. Mr. Shaffer also was & member of the Independ- ent Order of Odd Fellows, Baltimore, and a former organizer for the Junior Order of United American Me- chanics. Mr. Shaffer belonged to Petworth M. E. Loffier Sausage & Provision Co., dled today in Washington Sanitarium, Takoma Park, Md. ‘ She had been ill about 10 months. Mrs. Loffler, a native of Bavaria, came here in-1870. She .had been prominent many years in church, Eastern Star and welfare circles. She was past president of the Ladies’ Ald Soclety of First Reformed Church was past grand matron of the Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star of the District, and past matron of Ruth Chapter, O. E. 8. Mrs. Loffler also had long been active in the af- fairs of the Eastern Star Home, which she helped found, and the German Orphan Asylum. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Willam F. Gude and Mrs. Thomas E. Jarrell, both of this city; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grand- children; two brothers, Ohristopher Rammling, this ecity, and another brother and a sister, both living in Germany.
