Arthur Sel- den Lloyd, Suffragan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York aad & native of Alexandria, were to be con- ducted at 2 p.m. today at Christ Episcopal Church, here, by Rev. Harry Lee Doll, rector. Bishop Lioyd died suddenly Wed- nesday at the Summer home of his son-in-law, Gaven Hadden, in Stam- ford, Conn. He was the son of the late John Janney Lloyd and Eliza Arm Selden Lioyd of Mount Ida, Alexan- LENDA | dria. He was educated at the Epis- copal High School and was ordained at the Episcopal Theological Sem- inary here. Bishop Lloyd formerly served as Bishop Coadjutor of Virginia and as general secretary of domestic and foreign missions of the Episcopal Church. He leaves four daughters, Mrs. Gaven Hadden and Mrs. Charles Simington of New York, Mrs. Edmund Dandridge, Nashville, Tenn., and Mrs. Churchill Gibson, Richmond. Bishop Lloyd was a brother of the late Mrs. George Uhler of this city. Burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery. Blundon, 40, of Forest Glen, Md., who has been associated with his father, Francis A. Blundon, in the real estate business in Wash- ington for = number of years, died suddenly Wednesday in Costa Rica ‘while on & Southern cruise. " Blundon, accompanied by his cous- in, Kenneth Blundon of Forest Glen, left New York July 9 on a cruise to the West Indies and Central America. He complained of seasickness on the voyage and it is believed this aggra- vated the stomach ailment he had suffered for some time and caused hemorrhage that resulted in his death at Fort Limon. A native of Washington, Blundon was educated in the public schools, later attending Mount St. Mary, at Emmitsburg, Md,, and Catholic Uni- versity. During the World War he was with the Navy Department in ‘Washinglon and had planned to enter the air school at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology when the signing of the armistice changed his plans. He moved with his family to their home, at 10000 Georgia avenue, about 25 years ago and had lived there ever since. After he left the Navy Depart- ment he went into business with his faiher. He was a thirty-second .degree Mason, a member of the Almas Temple Shrine in Washington and of Masonic Lodge No. 198, Kensington, Md. Before his death, he claimed the guards, John Ferguson, 28, of 3219 Ninth place northeast and Rob- ert Brunner, 27, of 613 Morton street northeast, beat and kicked him. The alleged beating occurred last May, after an argument between Haw- kins and his wife, who was visiting him, and while the guards were re- turning Hawkins forcibly to his room in the hospital, where he was a mental patient.
