_=A-6 e L | "THREE CAPITAL { DENTISTS NAMED Drs. Souder, Paffenbarger and Lynch Will Go to Vienna. Three Washington men, who have gained na.onal recognition in dentis- try, have been named as delegates to the Ninth International Dental Con- gress in Vienna, August 2-8. They aret Dr. William Souder, chief of the Department of Dental Re- search, U. S. Bu- reau of Stand- ards; Dr. George C. Paffenbarger, research associ- ate of the Amer- ican Dental As- sociation, and Dr. Daniel F. Lynch, secretary of the . District of Co- lumbia Dental Soclety. The delegates, who will sail next week, were named by President Roosevelt and notified by a certificate of designation sent by Acting Secretary of State William Phillips, They will officially represent the State Department, as well as the International Association for Dental Research. Seventeen other delegates from all gections of the United States will at- tend the con- o 5 gress. Each will - p o take part in the extensive gram on “Standards for 3 Dental Materials” will be read by § Dr. Souder. Dr. Paffenbargers paper is “Dental Cements and Sil- icates.” Dr. Lynch will read a paper on “‘Osteomyelitis of the jaw. The Dental Congress is being held under the auspices of the Fed- eration Dentaire Internationale and will be attended by the dental pro- fession from all over the world. It meets every five years and discusses | the numerous scientific discoveries | and technical innovations that have | been introduced. Other outstanding clinicians and | essayists in dentistry who will take part on the program represent | Belgium, Czechoslovakia, England, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Norway, Poland, Swe- den, Switzerland and Turkey, One of the many features of the international meeting will be the in- stallation, for the first time, of a device for diffusing the translations of the papers read, so that the dele- gates will have a chance to listen to the reading of a paper in any one of the official languages of the congress, advance information from | Vienna reports.
