Continued From Third Page.) was announced at the reception fol- lowing the ceremony, was maid of honor for her sister. Her costume was of silver print organdy in a skell pink shade made over yellow satin. The bouffant skirt was floor length and the tight fitting bodice had short puffed sleeves. A satin sash matching the slip marked a normal waist line and her becoming small hat of crepe and tulle was of the same shade. Her bouquet was of vari-colored Spring blossoms. The bride's other attendants were Mrs. Edmond S. Meany, jr, Mrs. Howard Wade Vesey and Miss Pauline Virginia Dean, sister of the bride. They were dressed like the maid of honor, their slips, sashes and hats being of green and they all carried vari-colered Spring flowers. Mr. Augustine Winnemore was best man and the ushers included Mr. Howard Wade Meany, jr., Mr. Wayne Van Lear, Mr. William Dynes, of Washington and Mr. Richard Squire of Cincinnati. A reception followed in the Wash- ington Club. Mrs. Dean, mother of the bride was assisted in receiving by Mrs. Stone, mother of the bride- groom. Mrs. Dean wore yellow printed chiffon with brown hat and acces- sories, and Mrs. Stone wore green lace with hat to match. The decorations at the club were of palms, ferns and Spring blossoms. Leave for Wedding Trip. Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. Stone left for a wedding trip; the| bride wearing a brown taffeta suit| with a sand color blouse with Hugue- | rot embroidery and a brown stitched taffeta hat. They will be at home after July 15 at 1832 Biltmore street, where they have taken an apartment. | Mrs. Stone is a graduate of the Uni- | versity of Washington in Seattle. | Although she is a native of the Dis- | trict of Columbia, she has lived in | Beattle for some years. Her mother, | who also was born in the District, was before her marriage Miss Hellen | Moody, daughter of Mrs. Theodore Barrell Moody of Washington. Mrs. | Stone is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mills Dean, who was| prominent in Washington. The late Mr. Mills Dean was associated for some time with the late District| Commissioner Ross. Through her| mother Mrs. Stone is a descendant | of Joshua Johnson of-Maryland, first United States consul at London after | the revolution, who was the (athcq of Mrs. John Quincy Adams. M. | Stone received his A. B. from Dart- | mouth College and his M. A. from Harvard University, and is completing | his studies for his Ph. D. at Harvard. He is professor of English at George Washington University. Mr. Stone is a descendant of Gov. Bradford, | Colonial Governor of Massachusetts | and of Simon Stone who settled in| Massachusetts soon after the landing of the Mayflower. | Among the out of town guests were | Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Wilson of Reading, | Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Rodgers of Frederick, Md.; Miss Katharine Stone, of West Medford, Mass.,, aunt of the bridegroom; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Greene of Newcastle. Del, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Butpmn\ of Trenton, N. J. Miss Mary Owen Dean, sister of the bride, and Lieut. Scott have set no date for their wedding which probably will take place in the Autumn. Silver Spring Families United Last Evening. Miss Rita Elizabeth Lamkin, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Lamkin of Silver Spring, Md., and Mr. Carroll | V. Miller, son of Mrs. V. M. Brown of | Silver Spring, were married last eve- ning in the Silver Spring Baptist Church, the Rev. J. Wesley Loftis offi- ciating. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Herbert J. Howland, organist of the | church, played a program of wedding music and Mrs. Lorena Gawler sang “O Promise Me” The chancel was | decorated with potted palms, white roses and white garden flowers. The bride, who was given in mar- riage by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin ribbon and lace worn by her aunt, Mrs. Rose Talbert of Wash- ington, at her wedding 30 years ago. The gown was made by the bride's grandmother, the late Mrs. John Lam- kin of Washington. The long, circular shirt was fashioned with a short train, and the waist was tight fitting with & high collar and the sleeves puffed above the elbow and long and tight | to the wrist. With this she wore a picture hat of horsehair braid and carried a shower bouquet of white Toses. Miss Lillilan Lamkin, sister of the | bride, was her only attendant, wear- ing a gown of pale blue mousseline de soie, made with a fitted waist with short, puffed sleeves and round collar and flaring open in the front to show the taffeta slip of the same shade.
